2Install GutePOS Desktop (Windows)

Download Go to gutepos.com/downloads/ → click 📧 Request a link by email on the GutePOS Desktop card → enter your email → we send the link to your inbox
Install Double-click GutePOS-Setup-1.1.0.exe → click Yes at the UAC prompt → Setup Wizard → Install → tick ✅ "Launch GutePOS" → Finish
Windows may show a "Microsoft Defender SmartScreen" warning — click More info → Run anyway (we are signing the certificate soon)

Choose your server The first time you open the app it asks:

☁️ Cloud Server (recommended)	Uses cloud.gutepos.com — nothing to fill in
🏠 Local Server (LAN)	You run a server in the shop (Enterprise) — enter its IP
🔗 Custom URL	You have your own subdomain — enter `https://shop-abc.gutepos.com`

Smart Setup — pick Cloud Server first, then use Smart Setup on the login screen and the system finds your subdomain automatically (enter email + password)

Login Enter your email + 4-digit PIN that you set when you signed up
Forgot your PIN? — click "Forgot code?" and we'll email it to you
Start selling The system syncs your menu, tables and staff from the cloud automatically (~1 minute) → open your first bill right away. Sales keep working when the internet drops (Standard plan and above sync back to the cloud automatically)

3Install GuteKitchen (kitchen display — KDS)

For shops with a separate kitchen that want incoming orders on a large screen

Download the file GuteKitchen-Setup-1.1.0.exe from downloads
Install same as GutePOS Desktop
Login with the same email + PIN
Pick the station to show: kitchen / bar / desserts / etc.
Press F11 for full-screen on the kitchen display

Recommended: Use a mini PC (Intel NUC / Beelink) with a 24" screen in portrait — from around ฿7,000

4Install the Mobile App (Android)

For now it installs straight from an APK file (Play Store submission is in preparation)

Allow installs from Unknown sources On Android → Settings → Security → Unknown sources → turn it on ✅
(on some models: Settings → Apps → Special access → Install unknown apps → Chrome → Allow)
Download the APK Open a browser → gutepos.com/downloads/ → "Request a link by email" on the Mobile card → open the link from your email
Open the downloaded file → accept the prompt → Install
Open the app → log in with your email + PIN

Updates: there is no auto-update yet — check gutepos.com/downloads/ from time to time. Once we are on the Play Store, auto-update will take over

5Use it on iPad / iPhone (Safari)

iOS is fully supported through Safari + Add to Home Screen — no native app needed

Open Safari on your iPad or iPhone → go to cloud.gutepos.com
Login with the email + PIN you signed up with — you are ready to go
Add it to the Home Screen Tap Share (the square with an arrow) at the bottom (iPhone) or top right (iPad) → scroll to "Add to Home Screen" → tap Add
Use it like a native app You now have an icon on the Home screen — tap it to open just like any other app (PWA mode — full-screen, no browser bar)

Why Safari? Because Apple only lets PWAs (Add to Home Screen) run on the Safari engine — Chrome/Edge work on iOS but with fewer features

iOS Native App? Not yet — the web/PWA build already covers offline cache (via Service Worker), camera barcode scanning, push notifications and a home-screen icon

6Wrong URL / can't get in

A The app opens cloud.gutepos.com but it isn't your shop

Normally logging in at cloud.gutepos.com takes you to your own tenant. If it doesn't:

Check the login email is correct
Open a browser at cloud.gutepos.com and try logging in — note which subdomain you land on (e.g. shop-abc.gutepos.com)
Go back to the Desktop App → Settings → Server → Custom URL → enter that subdomain

B You see "Cannot connect to server"

Check your internet works (your browser can open google.com)
Check Windows Firewall isn't blocking GutePOS.exe → Windows Security → Firewall → Allow an app
If you use a Custom URL, make sure it starts with https:// and not http

C You get 404 / Page Not Found

The subdomain is misspelled — check it against your sign-up email
Try the subdomain in a browser first — if the browser opens it, the Desktop App will too

D Forgot your PIN

Click "Forgot code?" on the login screen → we email you a reset link
If you are a staff member, ask the shop owner (a Manager can reset it for you)

E Change the server after installing

With the app open → ⚙️ Settings (bottom left) → Server → pick a new one → Save & Reload

Or reset everything: close GutePOS → delete the folder C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\GutePOS\ → open the app again

7Uninstalling

Windows

Settings → Apps → search for "GutePOS" → Uninstall
The offline cache lives in C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\GutePOS\ (delete it yourself for a clean wipe)

Android

Press and hold the icon → Uninstall (like any other app)

Your real data lives in the cloud — uninstalling does not delete it. Reinstall, log in, and everything comes back (Standard plan and above)

How many devices can I install on?

Depends on your plan — Starter 1 station, Standard 2, Pro 5, Enterprise unlimited

Does it run on Windows 7?

No — Microsoft no longer supports it. We require Windows 10 or newer

Does it run on Mac?

The Desktop App is Windows-only for now — on Mac use the browser instead (cloud.gutepos.com in Safari/Chrome)

How does auto-update work?

While the app is open it checks for a new version every 6 hours, downloads it in the background and prompts you to restart when it suits you

Is it free? Any hidden costs?

The app is free — you only pay the subscription (from ฿590/month) See packages
